A State-of-the-art Review of Research on Creativity in Higher Education

Abstract
Creativity has been the focus of researches in several fields. However, it is in Education, mainly in Higher Education, that studies have pointed out the capacity creativity has to yield critical knowledge and autonomy.
This paper shows the results of a bibliographical study which aimed at carrying out a state-of-the-art review of creativity in Higher Education. Only 9 out of 244 papers found in SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) referred to Higher Education. It is worth highlighting that most studies which aimed at investigating Higher Education have addressed professors’ and students’ opinions about teaching practices related to barriers and ways to develop creativity. The methodology applied to collect data on the papers comprised tools we have developed. This study enabled us to outline the approach given to researches of creativity in Higher Education in the SciELO database and identify the shortage of studies in the area, an evidence of the fact that creativity is a fertile and important theme to be developed in the future.
Key Words: Creativity; Bibliographical Review; Higher Education.
}, number={2}, journal={Horizontes}, author={Abrahão, Isabela and Schmidt, Elisabeth Brandão}, year={2015}, month={dez.} }
